Light Up the Night The holiday season is upon us and not much says fun festive cheer like the annual lighting of the community trees on the Routt County Courthouse Lawn. Many in Steamboat Springs view Light Up the Night as the event that officially kicks off the start of winter and the holiday season. Happening on Friday November 23rd from 6:00-7:00pm. Turkey Trot

One of Steamboat Spring’s biggest traditions without a doubt is the Annual Turkey Trot. On Thanksgiving Day from 9:30am until 11:30am come out to Gardner Field and Stadium and burn off some pre turkey meal calories having a great time for a terrific cause! The Turkey Trot is a 5K run/walk that begins and ends at Steamboat Springs High School with the race course taking racers through the beautiful Strawberry Park. The holiday season is upon us and what better gift to give a young child then the gift of literacy. All children in Steamboat Springs from birth to the age of 5 are eligible to be enrolled in this important program. Early literacy is very important, and statistics have shown that nearly 40% of children are not ready kindergarten level literacy. Thanksgiving Dinner

Bring your appetites and come to the Community Center at 1605 Lincoln Avenue on Thanksgiving Day and share a meal with your community. From 1:00pm until 5:00pm members of the Routt County United Way will be serving traditional Thanksgiving Day dinner and everyone in the community is invited. This annual event is a heartwarming way to spend the holiday and has been a local tradition for six years now.
